1. Dab some tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is an effective agent in reducing acne and pimples as it helps fight inflammation and acne causing bacteria. According to a study, topical gels containing 5% tea tree oil are an effective treatment for mild to moderate acne. However, it's important to note that tea tree oil, when applied directly to skin, can also cause redness and irritation. For this reason, it should be diluted with water or a carrier oil.
When applying tea tree oil, make sure to first combine it with water. Then, dip a cotton swab into the mixture and apply it directly to pimples. Apply moisturiser if you feel the area getting too dry. Repeat this process one to two times per day, as needed.
2. Use a cold compress
A great and efficient way to get rid of inflammation and redness is by using a cold compress. Cold compress can particularly help to bring down a large or painful pimple. Simply wrap some ice in a wash cloth and apply to the affected area. Hold it there for 4-5 minutes and remove. Avoid applying the ice directly onto skin.
3. Fight it with aloe vera
Aloe vera gel when applied to skin, is known to fight inflammation and bacteria. Aloe vera gel can be particularly effective when combined with clove-basil oil. Simply scrape the gel out of the aloe leaves with a spoon and apply to the skin. It might work better if mixed with another acne treatment. Repeat 1-2 times per day, or as desired.
