5 Easy DIY Hair Mask Recipes
1. Castor Oil And Honey Mask
We all know the benefits of castor oil for hair growth. The oil is rich in fatty acids, and moisturises the hair for a siny looking mane. It also reduces dryness and flakiness from the scalp because of its antimicrobial properties. Honey too moisturises the hair naturally and gives it a gorgeous sheen. You can add a spoon of honey to two spoons of castor oil and warm the mixture. Apply the mask on the scalp and massage gently with the fingertips. Let the mask sit for 30 minutes to 45 minutes before you wash it away with lukewarm water.
2. Avocado And Banana Mask
This deep conditioning hair mask is for dry damaged hair, which prevents it from breakage and enhances the hair growth. Avocado and bananas both are rich in proteins and enable the hair to get back the nutrient content needed for shiny, healthy hair. Mash half an avocado with a banana until a smooth paste is formed. Apply the mixture from the roots to the ends and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Rinse off the mask with warm water for healthier hair.
3. Hibiscus Mask
The flowers and leaves of the hibiscus plant are both rich in antioxidants and stimulate the cell production which helps the hair to grow faster, longer and thicker. Take a few flowers and leaves of the plant and boil it in water. Obtain the sap and apply it to your hair and sit for at least 15 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. You will be surprised with healthier looking and beautifully smelling hair.
4. Garlic And Onion Mask
Known for their antifungal, antibacterial properties, both these ingredients can help you reduce the flakiness and dandruff. Crush both these ingredients in a bowl and add your regular hair oil to the mixture. Apply the thick paste to your hair and keep it for 30-45 minutes. Rinse off the mask with a shampoo to clear off the odour of the strong-smelling ingredients.
5. Fenugreek Seeds And Moringa Mask
Moringa leaves are rich in vitamins and help weak and fragile hair to grow. While fenugreek seeds are ideal for hair growth as they enable the hair follicles to grow faster. Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Take a few moringa leaves and grind them with fenugreek water and seeds to make a thick paste. Apply the mask to your hair strands from the tip to the roots and let it settle for 15 minutes to 20 minutes. Wash the mask thoroughly with lukewarm water.
