Skincare is part of a healthy lifestyle. The largest organ of your body takes a lot of beating due to sweat, oil, sebum production, pollution and whatnot. Therefore, it's imperative to take care of your skin. Well, mind you, if you ignore this part of your self-care, it's going to take a toll on the health of your skin. Result? Acne, spots, and pigmentation among other issues. Just like most of us, actress Alia Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt also swear by a healthy skincare routine. Recently, Alia shared a video on her skin secrets with her sister on her YouTube channel for fans. In the video, the actress can be seen thanking Shaheen for teaching her all about skincare.
The duo starts the video by talking about their skin types and their skin insecurities. Shaheen and Alia both have different skin types, skin tones and different skin concerns. Alia has combination skin with sensitivity as well. Shaheen, on the other hand, has dry skin. She struggles with acne, blemishes, pigmentation and spots. Shaheen and Alia shared their individual skin concerns. Alia stated that her main insecurity is acne. Seeing a pimple on her face simply drives her crazy. Also, Alia revealed that she uses pimple patches to deal with acne. The other insecurity that Alia has is dry patches on her skin that usually happen around her mouth area and even nose.

Shaheen's skin concerns include acne, marks and spots that occur after acne. Pigmentation and dark circles also bother Shaheen. In the video, the two discussed how skin care is important just like you take care of the other organs of your body. Alia shared that your short-term goals can be preventing acne, looking glowy, feeling good, and having a self-care ritual. The other thing, she stated, is a long-term goal. This is basically, the preventive care of your skin for the future.
Step 1: Cleansing
Alia Bhatt stated that whether she is going for a shoot or has to spend a day at home, she starts her skincare as soon as she wakes up in the morning. This includes cleansing her face with face wash.
Shaheen Bhatt, on the other hand, explained that she doesn't cleanse her skin in the morning. In fact, she double cleanses every evening to get rid of the SPF on her skin.
Step 2: Toning
Instead of a toner, Alia Bhatt uses a toning mist that has probiotics and a tri-ceramide complex. Ceramides help you to keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay. Probiotics help in balancing your skin, even-ing out your skin tone, brightening it, and reducing your acne.
Shaheen goes for hyaluronic acid serum as the first thing. This is because she has acne and her skin is a little unhappy now.
Step 3: Serum
After the toning mist, Alia Bhatt applied a peptide glazing fluid. She explained that peptides help with hydration, and keep your skin firm and smooth. However, ceramides are more hydrating than peptides. Alia added that the combination of peptides and ceramides goes great together.
For Shaheen, step number 3 includes avocado serum. It helps her soothe her skin. For the next step, Shaheen applied a caffeine solution under her eyes. She suggested that there's no need to go for a special under-eye cream because your moisturiser does half the work.
Step 4: Moisturising
Generally, Alia Bhatt opts for a completely lightweight moisturiser unless she is in an extremely cold climate. In that condition, the actress prefers a heavier moisturiser. Alia's moisturiser also has ceramides. It's soothing, calming, strengthening and nourishing.
Shaheen uses a cream suggested by her dermatologist.
Step 5: SPF
The two accept that this is the most important step in their skincare routine. The sisters diligently use sunscreen to prevent tanning and sunburn.
Step 6: Lip balm
In the end, Alia uses a good lip balm that nourishes her skin.
Shaheen uses an ointment. She also used a lip scrubber to get rid of dry lips.
