When beauty products promise to do it all, I'm always a bit cautious because it feels as if they bite off more than they can chew. I approached the L'Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil Serum with that same sense of apprehension. Packed with flower oils, it also promised to be light and non-sticky while ticking off almost every hair concern, from heat damage protection to deeply nourishing. It sounded amazing but almost a little bit too good to be true. So what did I do? I put it to the test.
Packaging Of The L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil Serum
The serum comes in a sturdy glass bottle that contains 100ml of product. It is a yellow tinted clear glass bottle with a plastic dispenser that twists to lock in place, which is a nice way to secure it without a cap. From the exterior itself, it has a premium look and its overall feel confirms this fact. It is suitable for all hair types and is priced at approximately Rs 499.

Using The L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil Serum
A single pump of the serum is enough to get a whiff of its fragrance; a floral blended scent that's quite strong. It doesn't only smell good in the palm but also imparts itself to the hair so that the tresses have a perfumed scent for a few hours. It is suggested to be used in multiple ways from before washing to after drying to pre-styling. It worked excellently for me during the styling and drying process. When heat styling my hair, a few drops of the serum lent more control in the process. I even ran a few drops through my hair right after styling and the shine was immense. On days when I was only air drying, some on damp hair was enough to find them smoother with reduced frizz. I did try it as a nourishing agent before washing but the difference wasn't apparent. The most noticeable way it affected my hair was the way it smoothened and softened it; it's as if frizz and flyways didn't exist. Having an oily scalp, I was cautious about how it would feel so I was pleasantly surprised that it felt light, non-greasy and like I was wearing nothing at all. Too good to be true might just actually be the truth with this hair serum.
