Let us admit that a bad hair day can play a spoilsport on a day when you think you are all set to turn heads at the party. Just like skin, your voluminous tresses need proper care and treatment. After all, we put it through a lot. Chemical treatments, colour processes, styling, ironing and whatnot make our hair frizzy, dry and prone to hairfall. From hair masks to regrowth treatments, the market is flooded with a bunch of methods to restore the health and shine of the mane. However, it is not always feasible to run to the salon. Not to mention how expensive procedures and products can burn a hole in your pockets.

But what if we gave you a win-win solution? A DIY flaxseed-based hair gel can give you results comparable to a hair spa treatment at a salon. Flaxseeds are beneficial for both hair and scalp, due to the presence of nourishing nutrients like magnesium, B vitamins, manganese, copper omega-3 fatty acids and selenium among other things. These nutrients boost hair growth and help the tresses grow stronger and longer. The usage of flaxseeds also prevents hair fall.
All you need to make this all-natural gel are flaxseeds, filtered water, muslin cloth and a glass jar with a lid.
How To Prepare DIY Flaxseeds Hair Gel
Step 1: Empty water in a pan and throw in the flaxseeds. Allow it to simmer on medium heat.
Step 2: Make sure you stir the flaxseeds in order to prevent them from sticking.
Step 3: Remove the pan from heat after 2 to 3 minutes, once the water achieves a gel-like consistency.
Step 4: Stir the mixture while it cools.
Step 5: Now, strain the gel well as the liquid passes through the muslin cloth into the glass jar.
Step 6: Leave it to get cool for up to 2 hours before using it. You can also store it in the fridge.
