Coming out of Coronavirus restrictions after many months does come with certain expectations. While we had in mind an increase in the waistline and clothes fitting a little too snug, what we never expected was a hair transformation straight out of Hollywood. Model and actress Emily Ratajkowski decided to step out of quarantine by taking a plunge and turning her signature cocoa brown locks to flaxen blonde. Of course, we're certain that being a Kerastase ambassador made the process a whole lot easier.
Year after year, annual beauty trends point to going with lighter locks during the hot months. Emily seems to have taken down notes because though most of summer was spent indoors during lockdowns across the world, she did so by stepping out with a whole new hair look. For celebrities, switching up their hair colour comes as easily as they would their socks. The likes of Demi Lovato, Kendall Jenner and our very own Lisa Haydon have proved that true. It also proved that you can look like a whole new woman with only a change in colour.
Says Ratajkowski, "I just celebrated my birthday and am so happy to be coming out of quarantine with a fresh new look. Beauty is meant to be fun and expressive and this is definitely, hands down, the most fun I've ever had with my look before." With salons opening shortly, would you take the plunge and opt for a fresh new shade in your tresses? If you've got blonde tones in mind, bookmark this look of Emily's before you head there.
It's also important to note while a change of colour certainly is exciting, post-colour care is just as important if not more so. Blonde hair needs plenty of TLC with the right shampoos, conditioners and masks to prevent colour from fading and becoming brassy. We've picked out the right hair care products for various shades of coloured hair so if you've changed yours up or are thinking of doing so, stock up on these before you do.
