Just as your body and mind feel tired after a long day of meetings, work and parties, so does your skin. Pampering it with a nourishing skin care routine is a great way to boost its repairing abilities overnight so that you wake up fresh and radiant. If you don't have a skin care routine in place, you've come to the right place.
Step 1: Oil cleanse
Take 2-3 drops of facial oil on your palm and massage it into your face with your fingertips in a circular motion for 2 minutes to allow the oil to penetrate your skin. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then place a hot, damp towel on your face for a few minutes to open the pores. Wipe your face thoroughly with the cloth to remove the oil.
Step 2: Soap cleanse
On your palm, take a single pump of facial cleanser and massage it into your skin until it lathers up. Allow it to sit for 2 - 3 while you rub it gently and then splash it off with cold water.
Step 3: Exfoliate
Once or twice a week, add exfoliation to your routine to get rid of dead skin cells. Take a pea-sized quantity of face scrub, rub it gently into your face and neck and wash it off after 2 minutes.
Step 4: Mask
On a weekly basis, apply a sheet mask to your skin for 15-20 minutes. It's like giving your face a quick drink of nourishment which will work wonders overnight.
Step 5: Serum
Next, take a few drops of facial serum and pat it into your skin with your fingertips. Because serum is formed of smaller molecules, it penetrates deep into the skin and hence, works efficiently. It's also a wonderful nourisher for those with greasy skin.
Step 6: Eye cream
Use your ring finger to apply a cooling eye gel under your eyes and beneath your brow bone. Massage it in and leave it to fully absorb into the delicate area.
Step 7: Moisturiser
Last but not the least, dot a creamy moisturiser all over your skin and massage it with your fingertips. Being the heaviest product, the moisturiser is the last product to seal the night time routine into your skin so that it works hard through the night for happy skin tomorrow.
