Summer is a catch-22 as far as diets are concerned. It's swelteringly hot, appetites are low but you can still grab some nosh. But since it is swelteringly hot as noted before, cooking needs to be light, breezy and quick or else ain't nobody got time for that. Enter Sonam Kapoor. The perpetual style queen of Bollywood is on a cooking kick. When the temperatures rise and you need a nutritious bite done quickly, Sonam's salad is the need of the day. For our benefit, she shared her recipe on Instagram.
With baby spinach leaves, chunks of cheddar, diced apple and slivers of roasted almonds, the salad can be dressed with apple cider vinegar, mustard, honey, salt, pepper and paprika. It requires next to no cooking, includes a balance of nutty, fresh and sweet flavours along with a light and healthy dressing. Baking has also been part of her repertoire while being quarantined at home. She also made a chocolate walnut cake when in the kitchen.
Recently too she went all out by preparing a lunch spread for the entire family, complete with pasta in marinara sauce, swiss chard with pine nuts, garlic bread as well as vegan options keeping in mind dietary considerations of everyone on the table.
