Of course, AP Dhillon isn't the first one to kickstart this trend. Back in 2019, Jonas Brothers made the headlines for featuring their significant others in the much-loved music video Sucker. In its music video, we saw Priyanka Chopra Jonas-Nick Jonas, Sophie Turner-Joe Jonas, and Danielle Jonas-Kevin Jonas shaking a leg on this euphoric track. The music video was released four years back and so far it has been viewed more than 367 million times. Then later in 2020, Priyanka and Nick once again featured together in What A Man Gotta Do.
It might leave you surprised but this trend goes back to 2002, when Jennifer Lopez released her track Jenny From The Block and its music video gave us a glimpse of her husband and Hollywood star Ben Affleck. While Jenny From The Block didn't feature Ben throughout the video like Jonas Brothers' Sucker, it was helpful enough to give the music world an idea of this trend.
Much loved musical couple Jay-Z and Beyonce have been starring in many music videos together since the early 2000s. We have seen the couple in Beyonce's Deja Vu, Drunk In Love, Crazy In Love and others.
In 2020, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox made their relationship official with their music video, Bloody Valentine. Later in September of the same year, once again the two featured in Machine Gun Kelly's Drunk Face.
