There are two reasons Sonam Kapoor has taken over the internet in the last few days. One reason is, of course, her wedding that will be taking place in Mumbai on May 8. And the second is her upcoming film Veere Di Wedding, that is scheduled to release on June 1. In between, she will probably be at the Cannes Film Festival. It's going to be a busy month for Sonam, what with these extremely important life events. But the Internet is fascinated by Sonam even otherwise and it has nothing to do with anything other than Sonam Kapoor's extraordinary sartorial elegance. Sonam Kapoor is the ultimate queen of fashion and there seems to be no one yet who can beat her style choices. Many have tried (we're talking A-list Bollywood actresses), but most have failed. While Bollywood has no dearth of talented, stylish and beautiful female actors, Sonam Kapoor has proved time and again that no one comes close to her when it comes to setting the bar (rather high) for experimental, avant-garde and just plain sophisticated style.

Before we start, though, be warned that we do have a huge bias towards Sonam's pink ensembles. We can't help it, pink just seems to be Sonam's colour.

Let's take a break from the pinks and concentrate for a minute on this beautiful gold gown from Atelier Zuhra. Too many people have attempted to wear princess gowns and ended up looking like queen mothers instead. Not Sonam Kapoor, no. This girl has got her princess act in order - crown and all.

Talk about mixing two distinct styles together. Sonam Kapoor is doing just that in her Temperley London ensemble. She seems to have found the perfect balance of retro with that hair and knitted cardigan and boho-chic with that printed skirt.
Can we take a moment and a deep breathe for Sonam Kapoor's gold Elie Saab gown? Sigh.
Back to pink, but only because it cannot be helped. Here's a second gown from Elie Saab Sonam wore at Cannes last year. The word perfection does not do justice to this look.

We saved best for last (we think). Can you imagine anyone else walk down a runway in all of that and look like an absolute goddess? We certainly can't. While this Ralph and Russo gown and all those jewels could easily intimidate anyone else and overpower the person in them, Sonam seemed completely in command as she took the ramp to close the Ralph and Russo Haute Couture show today at Paris Couture Week last year. We'd give her an 11/10.
