When you hear the word "Rasbhari", it reminds you of a citrus fruit, and from there if you let your mind wander, you will be reminded of a garden in full bloom.
And the day two of Amazon Fashion Week Autumn-Winter '18 saw yet another colorful offering to a garden in bloom, and also a tribute to the modern Indian woman.
Karishma & Deepa Sondhi 's show not only had the runway becoming a melange of dresses, skirts and tops (all in beautiful colors of the summer, and some fascinating embroidery work), but it also had Bipasha Basu as the showstopper, and boy were we excited to see the graceful actress on the ramp again.
"It brought back so many memories from the days I was a model - all the excitement, the backstage madness, the fast pace...I mean I have finished my walk and I am still nervous," said a very clearly excited Bipasha.
The collection had the actress walking in a beautiful coral red lehenga that sported some interesting embroidery in floral motifs.
Not just that, there was a playful mix of tassels, bead work, dori work, thread work...all a tribute to the feminine energy and nature. And Bipasha Basu made for a great showstopper for the same.

The trends on the second day of Amazon Fashion Week seem to be a mix of diverse themes and designs. There are monotones, colors, new cuts, and a constant reminder that Indian handloom is more relevant than ever.
And Rasbhari as a show, with its garden like feel, interesting ensembles, and the celebration of contemporary coming together with the traditional was quite a treat to watch.
As was the beautiful Bipasha Basu, who we hope to see way more on the runway.
