These days, spotting superstar Angelina Jolie is a rarity. Between raising her brood and making movies, the actress slash director slash humanitarian hardly ever makes an appearance so every glimpse of hers is an anticipated one. One such rare occasion took place when the Hollywood A-lister emerged in London. And her look was quite unexpected.
More often than not, Angelina's aesthetic has been intense and sensual with an abundance of slits, red lips and bared shoulders. Surprisingly, this appearance of hers went in the opposite direction with an unlikely soft, sophisticated appeal. The star was in London to attend the Service of Commemoration and Dedication of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George at St Paul's Cathedral.
For the event, Angelina wore a silvery grey toned custom Ralph & Russo midi dress with a cowl bateau neckline and gold brooch. Paired with it were gloves, a silver purse, studded earrings and matching pumps, also from the designer. She went for a light smokey eye and peach lips with a neat updo which was capped off by a grey fascinator on her head.
Angelina's look may be an unexpected one but we're not complaining. Right from the muted tone of the ensemble to the striking eyes to the matching headpiece, it's a lovely look that hits all the right notes in the subtlest way possible. It's also in sync with British royal dressing, most popularly evidenced by the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. Post her royal wedding, Meghan has been seen sporting modest, elegant looks in subtle tones.
Regardless of whom she's taking her notes from, we can't help but gaze at Jolie in awe of her latest look.
