Blake Lively takes the MET Gala theme very seriously every single year and even more so this time around. Previously, while she has matched her outfit to the shades of the colourful carpet, she took things a step further for the MET Gala 2022 as the co-chair of the event. This year the theme was 'In America: An Anthology Of Fashion' and she fully delivered. While many complicate the usually complex theme of the event, Blake kept it straight-forward and stylish as ever. For inspiration, she looked up to the skies in New York City. Not for weather conditions or magic in the heavens but for the historical landmarks that the famous city has.
Blake was picture standing beside husband Ryan Reynold wearing an Atelier Versace gown in tones of rose gold. It featured a fitted corset with stone studded cutout details. At the waist was an oversized bow followed by a flowing train in pink. Blake completed it with pink gloves. For her share of dazzle, she wore green stone dangling earrings and a crown with her long blonde hair worn down.
But then a transformation happened. Mid-red carpet, Blake took a leaf out of Lady Gaga's book and switched up her look. The bow unwrapped and layered over the flowing train in light blue with details of shimmering rose gold. Her gloves too were changed into matching blue ones. Blake's bodice was inspired by the Empire State Building while the draping channeled the Statue Of Liberty, including the aqua shade she transformed into. Blake's crown also featured seven tiers like the Statue. With a beautiful dress and well-thought out inspiration for it, Blake Lively wins the MET Gala red carpet once again.
