Aishwarya Rai Bachchan yet again proved that she is the original Cannes diva. The red carpet veteran (this was her 17th year of attending the international event) left no stone unturned to make a stylish impact this year too. Aishwarya's looks for Cannes 2017 had indeed set the benchmark high for not just other Indian actresses to make show stopping style statements at Cannes, but her as well to up her style game. Remember Aishwarya looking like a real life Cinderella in a ball-gown designed by Michael Cinco or the flamenco-inspired, fiery red Ralph and Russo Dress? The beauty queen of course passed with flying colours as she impressed all with her stunning range of designer outfits.
On Day 1, we saw the Bollywood diva looking summer ready in an easy breezy, custom-made, Manish Arora maxi dress. The sky blue dress was intricately designed with multi-coloured beads and sequins, and Aishwarya teamed her look with Noor Fares jewellery with perfect beach wave hair.
For her first red carpet look, Aishwarya picked a dramatic butterfly-inspired Michael Cinco dress in shades of purple, red and blue. The designer shared on his Instagram that "the 10-foot long train took 3,000 of man-hours to finish and was intricately hand crafted to make it this exquisitely flighty and timeless." The dress had intricate threadworks and was embellished in Swarovski crystals and French paillettes.
Being a power woman that she is, Aishwarya next choose a classic black, Giorgio Armani pant suit and teamed it with a pair of chic Racine Carree heels while sporting bright red lips.
Next, we saw Aishwarya in a Manish Arora creation, nailing a photo shoot session. The Bollywood actress wore a white shirt with a high waisted, structured black skirt, and flung a floral patterned, heavily sequined, orange jacket over her shoulders.
For her final red carpet look, the diva wore a crystallised minted custom-made gown by Rami Kadi Couture. The off shoulder glittery dress no doubt worked wonders to make Aishwarya shine at the red carpet, but it was her avant garde hairstyle that elevated her look to a whole new level. The sleek updo and contemporary jewellery from Boucheron complemented her dress, and she kept her makeup simple with matte lips.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan undoubtedly ruled once again on the Cannes red carpet with her glamorous style statements. Here's hoping that she keeps inspiring other Bollywood actresses to bring their A-game to the international event.
