We know what you must be thinking; after ogling at her retro chic black Sabyasachi saree from last night, weren't we absolutely sure that Kangana Ranaut will make a grand debut at the Cannes Red Carpet? Don't get us wrong, the actress did look pretty stunning. In a Zuhair Murad gown that was working wonders for her, she also had that pixie-like vibe going for her. Only that the entire look was a little dull for Kangana, a woman who makes bold choices in every aspect.
The Zuhair Murad backless grey purple sleeveless sheath dress with a floor length overskirt in tulle was sprinkled with crystals all over, and was a princess's dream come true. But as great as the dress is, Kangana would have done better with a darker colour, or a brighter tone. One of the reason the Sabyasachi "aakash taara" saree worked so glamorously for Kangana was because of its colour. The black, the metallic look, all looked wonderful on her.
But hey, the actress still managed to rock the dress with pizzazz and style, not to mention immense confidence and sass.
But one wonders what would have happened if Kangana had simply stuck to the Indian vibe for all her looks at Cannes; for one, everyone would have been crazy excited and much would have been said about how the actress is showing what the country's got on an international scale. That and the woman sure knows how to carry Indian wear. But oh well!
Let's applaud the lady for looking so sparkling after all.
