It seems like red carpet fashion in Bollywood is currently reverting to the classics. You know all too well by now that there's nothing more classic than a little black dress but since this is the red carpet we're talking about, it's the black gown we're talking about. At last night's Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Awards 2023, the shade saw enough of resurgence to the extent that it seems like the black gown was almost a dress code for the celebrities. Majority of the starry attendees chose black in some form but this lot chose black gowns with the addition of a slit down the side to showcase a leg pop. From Anushka Sharma to Ananya Panday, all of these celebrities and actresses almost telepathically planned their outfits their similar outfits for the night.

Anushka Sharma at the event
Anushka Sharma wore a sleeveless black dress with billowy fitted top half. The bottom included a circular train and a slit over her leg. With it, she wore black pumps with an ankle chain detail, a sparkling necklace and rings on her fingers. A rosy but muted makeup look was worn with a centre-parted low bun.
Ananya Panday looks lovely
Ananya Panday wore a black gown with a high neckline, power shoulders and full sleeves. The yoke of the dress showcased a woven pattern and the straight fit number had a slit over her left side. Ananya wore it with silver stone-encrusted heels, rings and hoop earrings. Her makeup deserved a shout out as her 2D smokey eye paired stunningly with her sleek bun.
Sophie Choudry stuns in her outfit
Sophie Choudry went the bold route with her black gown. Her velvet number featured a single shoulder detail and slit across the chest. With a nipped waist, her leg slit came on her right hand side. Sophie also wore black strap heels with the outfit and sparkling earrings, bracelets and rings with full curls in her hair.
Shehnaaz Gill at the event
Shehnaaz Gill's black gown had a sheer panel over the neckline and arms and the black sleeves of her dress extended to gloves. The ankle-length gown had a slit down her right, which she wore with pumps. Shehnaaz wore the look with startling orange eye makeup.
Elli AvrRam looked amazing
Elli AvrRam's black gown was definitely our top pick of the night. With a choker neckline and chest cutout, her straight fit black gown featured a slit down her left side which she wore with pumps. Her dramatic yet subtle makeup was paired with an updo.
