Of late, we've been witness to a sea of colour taking over Bollywood wardrobes. At the start of the year, yellow quickly became the new black. Neutrals made their presence felt, even at the airport. The all-white look scorched through the trend charts and is still working its way upwards. So it was about time it needed a breather and it seems like Freida Pinto, Yami Gautam and Sanya Malhotra read our minds. At three respective events, these three lovely ladies chose to give blocks of colour a miss in favour of bold rousing prints and we couldn't be any gladder to see the change of pace in the fashion circuit.
For the screening of her upcoming film Love, Sonia, actress Freida Pinto wore a blue, white, red and yellow set of loosely-fitted separates from Saaksha & Kinni in a busy ikat print. With gold heels and dangling earrings, Freida opted for a rosy toned makeup look with red lips and a pulled back hairstyle.
In another part of Mumbai, Yami Gautam was busy with promotional rounds of her own. Yami opted for a Kate Spade mini set in green and red nature-inspired prints on black. To match the black piping of the outfit, the actress wore black laced Christian Louboutin heels with red lips and her hair left loose.
Then there was Sanya Malhotra making an appearance for her upcoming film, Pataaka. Sanya wore a white and peach striped shirt dress from Appapop with ruffled sleeves and a contrasting burgundy belt. Along with her hair left wonderfully in curls, she went with chunky white heels.

Three looks in one day, all swimming in a sea of prints, one more striking that the next. Who needs the town painted red when you've got prints instead.
