The GQ Style Awards 2018 took place in Mumbai on the 31st of March. As always, the event was a star studded one. From ace actors like Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt to the siblings of some of Bollywood's most famous (read: Isabelle Kaif and Nupur Sanon) to almost everybody's consistent 'man crush Wednesday', Rahul Khanna in attendance, the red carpet was a melange of happy faces and shiny designer outfits. Here are some of our picks for best dressed from the high-on-fashion awards show.
Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt swapped her usual sweet red carpet style for sexy all the way with her Nedret Taciroglu dress. Alia's soft pink dress featured a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. With her hair tied in a bun, soft makeup and bare minimal accessories, Alia definitely managed to steal the show.
Isabelle Kaif
Katrina Kaif's younger sister has been attending events sans her sister recently and also signed on deals with some brands in India. Whether or not this Kaif is going to make her debut in Bollywood is unknown, but there's no debating that her style is definitely on point. For the GQ Style Awards, Isabelle Kaif showed up in a royal blue number from Temperley London. She left her hair open in soft waves and kept her makeup perfectly natural.
Nushrat Bharucha
Nushrat Bharucha's most recent film, Sonu ki Titu ki Sweety, has allegedly entered the 100 crore club. While Nushrat seems to have gotten clear success on screen, she is now making statements aplenty off screen as well. The GQ Style Awards was one such event. Nushrat walked the red carpet in a black Joao Rolo Couture gown. Her gown was replete with floral embroidery and featured a deep neckline and a halter back. She wore simple diamond drop earrings and made a top knot bun to finish her look.
Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor looked rather dapper in his multi layered suit by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. Shahid's suit featured a sequin shirt, a long fringed waistcoat and a suede jacket on top. Hard to say he didn't own the rather different ensemble.
Huma Qureshi
Huma Qureshi's Gaurav Gupta gown added a fresh twist to the plain black gown. Huma's gown featured two oversized pink flowers, one on the bodice and one on the skirt. Huma kept her hair tied in a messy ponytail and went for no accessories.
Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar is a man with classic style. For the GQ awards, though, Akshay mixed it up a bit. Akshay chose to wear the classic combination of a black shirt, tie and blazer, but he teamed it up with a pair of camo pants with checks running through. Classic yet contemporary, we had to put him on this list.
Nupur Sanon
Actress Kriti Sanon's younger sister, Nupur Sanon, can be spotted with her often. It is unclear whether Nupur Sanon who also seems to have moved to Mumbai off late is looking to make a debut in Bollywood - but for now, this star sibling seems to be making her presence felt by attending events and award shows, with and without her sister. While Kriti Sanon was not present at the GQ Style Awards, Nupur Sanon showed up in a lavender ruffle detailed gown by Lola by Suman B. She went with straight, sleek hair and wore a pair of silver earrings.
Rahul Khanna
Although we might not see him at events as often as we'd like, when Rahul Khanna shows up, it's hard to stop looking. He's not everyone's 'man crush Wednesday' or well, everyday, for nothing. Rahul Khanna came to the award show wearing a classic black and white tux from Alfred Dunhill. His black bowtie and white pocket square were the perfect additions to his classic look.
