It seems like everybody who is anybody in the celebrity sphere is reverting to age-old classics this season. The LBD is one of them. The little black dress isn't going out of fashion any time soon so if you were growing weary of it already, brace yourself. While the likes of Rakul Preet Singh and Malavika Mohanan have taken up the ebony garment in their own fashionable way, it's the same on the other side of the world. Olivia Wilde recently attended an awards function in Hollywood and showcased her contemporary take on the black dress. The actress and film maker has made waves with her recent film release Don't Worry Darling, which starred her beau Harry Styles. This time, it was her personal style that made us sit up and pay attention.
Olivia wore a black gown on the red carpet. It featured broad waist band with a voluminous skirt which had a balloon-esque silhouette. On top was a miniscule bodice strategically covering her bust with thin straps over the shoulders. Black pumps and silver earrings rounded off her outfit.
Olivia's mane featured dark roots leading to caramel-tinted blonde ends, which were worn in curls. Her makeup was neutral toned with a nude lip and touch of eyeliner on her lids. All in all, it's a modern chic take on the black dress without any drama to steal the spotlight. Basically, it's Olivia Wilde's black dress in all its minimal glory and that's just the way we like it.
