The FDCI India Couture Week 2023 has begun with a bang. Fashionistas braved the rains to get their fill of this season's style quotient, which commenced with Falguni Shane Peacock as the curtain raiser for this extravaganza. What only heightened the pizzazz was the fact that it was Kiara Advani who made her way down head ramp as the showstopper for the night. The Bollywood actress played muse to the designers in an ensemble that was perfectly timed for the season. For her show-stopping walk on the runway, Kiara wore a bright pink two-piece look which was covered in embellishment. With Barbie being the trend du jour ever since Greta Gerwig's movie released, that seems to have extended to the catwalk as well.

Kiara's bralette-style top featured a plunging V-neckline covered with gold bead and sequin work. A fringe trimmed its hemline for more razzle dazzle. Paired with it was a full-length skirt which was worn high on her waist. While the skirt featured a slit up to the thigh, its length extended behind in a train. Like the blouse, her skirt was also heavily embellished in gold with sequins and bead work.

Advani served face with a fabulous beauty look to match. Her dark eye makeup was in neutral tones and paired with flushed cheeks and a muted lip. Her long dark locks were worn in full waves which cascaded down her shoulders, while swept to the side. Kiara certainly brought out her inner Barbie for this turn on the catwalk. Falguni and Shane Peacock unveiled their signature couture collection ‘Renaissance Reverie' at the opening show of FDCI's Hyundai India Couture Week 2023. The collection is an ode to the Renaissance period and a seamless fusion of rich Indian culture, techniques, and craftsmanship
