Sridevi's older daughter Janhvi Kapoor is 21 today and it's going to be a difficult birthday for her. Sridevi died suddenly and tragically two weeks ago in a Dubai hotel bathroom, devastating her family, fans and colleagues. A statement posted on behalf of the Kapoors after the actress, 54, was cremated pleaded for love, consideration and sensitivity to be shown to the two young daughters Sridevi left behind - Janhvi and Khushi. As Janhvi turns 21, many from the industry, including her cousin Sonam Kapoor posted messages of love and encouragement for the young actress who is scheduled to make her debut in Bollywood in July this year.
Janhvi's cousin Sonam Kapoor was amongst the first to wish the young actor a happy birthday, taking to Instagram. "To one of the strongest girls I know, who became a woman today. Happy birthday jannu." read Sonam's caption.
Amongst others who wished her were also designer Manish Malhotra, who was reportedly very close to Janhvi's mother, Sridevi. Janhvi, Khushi and Sridevi were all seen in Manish Malhotra's creations very often. At the most recent family wedding that was attended by Sridevi and Khushi in Dubai a few days prior to her death, they were both seen wearing Manish's designs almost for all functions.
Bollywood stylist Tanya Ghavri also posted a birthday wish for Janhvi on Instagram. Tanya often used to style Sridevi for events.
Janhvi Kapoor is yet to make her Bollywood debut, but she has been in the public eye and the subject of public curiosity for a couple of years now. Perhaps that comes with the territory when you belong to a family of Bollywood stars.
