In all glitz and glamour, Manish Malhotra revealed his new couture collection last evening in Mumbai, which lived up to its name 'Zween' that means beautiful, spectacular or gorgeous in Arabic. Celebrating 13 marvellous years of Manish Malhotra Label, the designer showcased yet another glamourous range of outfits as part of his Indo-Persian line that's " inspired by motives of Persia and the Arabian desert". No fashion show of Manish Malhotra can go by without Bollywood celebs adding to the oomph of the event. And as showstoppers for Zween, it was none other than Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan who walked the ramp and dazzled all.
In Manish Malhotra's Instagram account, he had shared that inspired by Persia and Arabia, his 2018 couture collection showcases various textures and embroidery art of three dimensional surfaces as well as flows and cuts that are soft and sensuous and very glamorous. At the show, Katrina Kaif was an epitome of elegance as she wore a soft brown lehenga-choli that had intricate floral patterns and was heavily embellished in the designer's signature style to notch up the glam quotient. It was teamed with a matching cape jacket and Katrina sported wavy hair and subtle makeup to compliment her look.
Salman Khan looked dashing in a black embroidered sherwani amidst the backdrop of an eagle taking flight on the large screens at the venue. The red taping on the outfit added an extra edge to his royal look. With well groomed hair and a smile on his face, Salman Khan stole all attention.
Zween featured classic as well as contemporary Manish Malhotra signature ensembles for men and women. The show was also a celebration of 13 years of Manish's illustrious design label, deriving inspiration from the old-world magic of the Indo-Persian era. With the leading pair - Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan - as a befitting muse for the maverick Manish Malhotra, the night certainly ended on a high note with other industry and Bollywood celebrities cheering on the couple and the designer.
