US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump's 36-hour visit to India has been the prime topic of conversation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed them in Ahmedabad on Monday in all grandeur as people across the country eagerly waited for POTUS and FLOTUS. On their first official visit to India, they were also accompanied by daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner as part of a high-powered delegation accompanying the US President. While all attention was on US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was also Melania and Ivanka Trump's chic fashion statements that received much praise.
On Day 2 of their India visit, First Lady Melania Trump opted for a breezy white dress as they visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The shirt dress by Carolina Herrera featured a flared cut and came with multi-coloured floral block prints that gave it a fun edge. Melania teamed it with a red waist belt to give it a stylish spin, along with classic white pumps to complete her look.
On Day 1, Melania Trump made a graceful appearance as she set foot in India in a sleek white jumpsuit from Atelier Caito For Herve Pierre made with creme crepe. While we loved the structured cut of the jumpsuit, it was her waist sash that was the talk of the town as it was inspired by Indian textiles from the early 20th century. On the designer's Instagram post, he revealed that "The sash was cut in an early XX century Indian textile documents I found in Paris through very good friends who are collectors. The sash is made out of green silk and gold metallic thread. We used the border which was the most interesting piece we could use as it was a vintage."

White House senior advisor Ivanka Trump arrived for a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Day 2 in a sherwani by Indian designer Anita Dongre. Speaking about the garment, Anita Dongre said, "Ivanka is wearing a sherwani made out of handwoven silk from Murshidabad, West Bengal. It is timeless, and such a classic - We created this style 20 years ago and it's amazing to see how beautifully relevant it is even today. A powerful, standout silhouette, a sherwani carries the same charisma in absolutely any colour but my personal favourites are the evergreen blue, white and black."
Ivanka Trump was all about pretty florals on Day 1. Making a case for sustainable fashion, her baby blue and red floral dress by Proenza Schouler was a repeat. Ivanka first wore the dress by the New York based brand during a diplomatic visit to Argentina last year. We loved how she sported it once again, teaming it with statement earrings and colourpop red pumps to stay on point.
These Trump ladies surely know how to steal all the attention with their gorgeous fashion statements. We hope to see more stunning looks before they fly back to the US tonight.Comments
