Priyanka Chopra's success story is the stuff dreams are made of. Winning the Miss World crown as a teenager and then cementing her status as a certified Bollywood star were only a start. Since then, Bollywood's desi girl has become a global phenomenon. From her role on Quantico which thrust her in the Hollywood spotlight to her marriage to pop sensation Nick Jonas, it has been a dream run for the superstar. Most recently, her film The Sky Is Pink won critical acclaim and she was awarded for her role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. When Priyanka Chopra was in Mumbai to represent her long-standing association with the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, we spoke to her about her style journey and memorable moments along the way.
"I've Had One Of My Best Relationships With The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour"
Priyanka dropped in to play showstopper for the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour. Her association with the brand hit its 10th year mark, which was a significant achievement for both parties. "My association with Blenders Pride Fashion Tour is at its 10th year. I've had one of my best relationships with the brand. I love how they push the envelope for fashion in India which is very important considering the culture we come from," says Priyanka.
"As I've Grown, I've Seen My Personal Style Evolve"
The Priyanka Chopra that you see on red carpets across the world wasn't always the picture of confidence and charisma that she is today. On her style journey, Priyanka chimes in, "My personal style is very experimental. There are times I'm safe, there are times I'm not. I love putting elements together which shouldn't be together." That wasn't always the case for her. "I wasn't always this confident of my personal style. When I first started, I was very nervous. As I've grown, I've seen my style evolve and that's a reflection of who I am and the women I'm becoming," says the star.
A Throwback To 2 Decades Ago
No matter how far she comes, Priyanka won't forget how it started. On asking what her most exciting fashion experience was, she says, "My gosh there have been so many! Wearing Hemant Trivedi's evening gown for Miss World 20 years ago was a very important fashion moment for me at that point."
