Rihanna, Dressed As The Pope, Won The Met Gala - Again

Trust Rihanna to do the unthinkable. The rule breaker has time and again proved to us all that when it comes to making a fashion statement, she can never fail in grabbing attention. She is bold and not afraid to take fashion risks, and probably that's the reason why, whenever she walks the red carpet, she immediately becomes the centre of attention. Even at what's considered to be the biggest fashion event on the annual calendar - the Met Gala - she has been consistently rocking the red carpet look in respective themes.

The theme for Met Gala 2018 was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" and this year Rihanna played a co-host of the event alongside Anna Wintour, Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace. Rihanna - singer, actress, fashion icon and entrepreneur - made a traffic stopping entrance in a heavily embellished Pope dress, and she has been the talk of the town ever since.

Rihanna arrived for the red carpet in a pearl and crystal-embellished Maison Margiela gown that featured an overskirt that cut open to reveal a strapless mini dress, which she accessorised with a matching robe-like jacket and papal mitre style hat. Interpreting the theme of the event perfectly, her avant garde look was well received by fans and fashion critics.

She completed the look with a pair of tall Christian Louboutin stilettos in gunmetal hue, while adding statement jewellery from Cartier. Her hair was styled in an updo, letting the ornate hat grab all attention. Her makeup was striking too, with smokey eyes, bleached eyebrows and glossy lips, courtesy of Fenty Beauty.

Last year too, Rihanna brought out the best of avant garde style dressed in a coral and floral patterned Rei Kawakubo look to the Met Gala, honoring the Comme des Garcons designer.

In Met Gala 2015, she stole the show in a yellow, fur-trimmed robe by Chinese couturier Guo Pei keeping with the theme - China: Through The Looking Glass.

The diva truly proves that there's no one quite like her, and we are definitely looking forward to a lot more of Rihanna in our lives.
