It's the end of January, and no matter how badly we want to hold on to the last vestiges of winter, its end is rapidly approaching. Sigh. If you're as much in love with winter fashion as we are, you're probably already feeling nostalgic for the coats and jackets that will soon have to be locked away. But if you're anything like Shilpa Shetty and Nimrat Kaur, you'll find a way to hold on to a tiny part of winter, even as it speeds away. Both actresses pulled off stunning looks in jacket dresses recently.
Shilpa attended an award function last night wearing a long, flowy, oversized trench coat-like shirt dress with gold splatters from Rajesh Pratap Singh's Gold Rush Collection. The feminine twist to Singh's signature white shirt was among our favourites when we first saw it in his Autumn Winter 2016 collection, and we love it even more on Shilpa Shetty. Paired perfectly with delicate ear cuffs from Anomaly by Anam, and a tight top knot, strong brows, smoky eyes and deep pink lips by way of makeup, Shilpa definitely looked like she was dressed to win.
To promote her recently launched web series, The Test Case, Nimrat showed up in an impressive black asymmetrical tuxedo dress by Ashish N Soni, as structured as Shilpa's outfit was flowy. Considering that Nimrat is playing a commando in the Indian Army in the series, the strong, structured dress was a perfect choice. Nimrat paired the dress with single-strap slim pencil heels and thin gold chains, to add a touch of femininity to her power-dressing outfit. Tightly swept back curls with a centre parting, barely-there makeup and pale pink lips completed Nimrat's high-fashion but businesslike look.
Somehow, after looking at these gorgeous ladies and the way they've managed to preserve a small part of winters, losing the season of layers doesn't seem quite as painful as before.
