The Midi Black Dress: Blake Lively To Priyanka Chopra, Everyone's Wearing It

Less than two weeks ago after the death of Hubert de Givenchy, the story of the iconic LBD was everywhere. The LBD or little black dress was made immensely popular after it was seen on Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. While the little black dress seen on Audrey Hepburn and she herself can never go out of style or be forgotten, recent times are seeing a little bit of a shift in the fashion preferences of many. Don't get us wrong, everyone still loves their black dresses (how can you not?). Only now, instead of the little black dress, most seem to be opting for the midi black dress. It's true and we can prove it! From Hollywood actress Blake Lively to our very own Priyanka Chopra, the midi black dress seems to have made its way to everyone's wardrobes. Could it be time to say bye-bye to the little black dress, at least for a while?

Only last night, Blake Lively shared a picture of herself in a midi black dress from designer Brandon Maxwell. She paired her dress with shoes from Louboutin, jewels from Lorraine Schwartz and a bag from Chanel. We have to say, Blake almost always makes a fashion statement in whatever she chooses to wear, but something about her look from last night tells us it's going to go down in the books.
 

Priyanka Chopra loves food and fashion. If you keep up with her through her social media pages, you'd find it hard to disagree. But when Peecee, as she is fondly called, decides to put both her loves in one frame, there's only one question you can ask yourself; what's not to love? On Thanksgiving last year, Priyanka Chopra did just that. She posted a picture on Instagram in her midi black dress holding a plate of food. If only it were that easy to look like Priyanka after devouring all that food.

If something is in vogue, you can count the Kapoor sisters to be in on it. Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are as stylish as they are talented - and if they're wearing the midi black dress, you know it's in fashion.

If you still don't believe us, all you really have to do is turn to the Kardashian-Jenner sisters. If they're wearing it, it's got to be a modish garment, right? They're not just ruling social media for nothing. Having said that, you can't really expect them to wear even a black dress the conventional way. The Kardashian-Jenner sisters are always setting trends. It's natural then that they wear even their midis differently.

While Kim Kardashian West didn't exactly wear a midi black dress, she did wear a midi black skirt paired with a black bralet and coat. Her younger sister Kendall Jenner on the other hand chose to wear a midi black dress that was sheer and embellished. Kudos to this pair for knocking this trend out of the park.
