Oscars 2023 fever is far from over in our part of the world. With Hollywood's finest walking down the prestigious Oscars 2023 champagne carpet of the year, one would imagine the Oscars after-party to be just as lit. While that was obviously the case for this year's glamorous night, there was a certain trend that caught the eye of many celebrities to dance the night away. The classic black gowns took a break, but we were certainly not ready for what was in store for us. Net overlays projected on slinky silhouettes were the rage of the night. The past year's "naked dress" made a very daringly chic return and stunned us all. These Hollywood stunners dared to bear at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party and made the run for everyone's money.
Emily Ratajkowski wore a silver sheer column dress with a silver embellished tie-up detailing strategically contouring her hourglass figure.
In a rather strikingly similar look, Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio left little to one's imagination in her sheer silver gown designed by Peter Dundas.
R&B singer Ciara went the black-on-black route but with a bold touch with her "naked dress" that, unlike its earlier counterparts, still effortlessly draped her body in a halterneck silhouette.
Zoe Saldana played it safe on the Oscars champagne carpet this year but certainly overcompensated with her two-piece set for the after-party. She paired a golden sheer cape from Cartier with a black high-waist skirt from Michael Kors that she surely looks ready to party in.
Sabrina Carpenter proved that white is only a minimal colour for those who don't see the potential of making it bold. She wore a sheer gown from Paco Rabanne that had a form-fitting white net bodice with strategically placed beadwork that extended into a flowy white skirt.
Daisy Edgar-Jones stands tall in Gucci. Her column silhouette mesh fishnet gown with its symmetrical beads added to it looked incredible from the time she walked in.
Jodie Smith added colour, texture and contrast to her outfit from Gucci, which included a red velvet bustier, checked mesh sleeves score a neckline
Sophie Turner may have picked a more modest version of the sheer dress, but one that truly deserves a special mention in our lookbooks.
If sheer naked dresses are back to being the trends of the season, we are happy to announce that we are so ready for it!
