On the occasion of National Handloom Day which was on August 7, Friday, people from all over the country supported the #Vocal4Handmade cause and embraced handloom fashion pieces. This day is observed to recognise the hard work and immense contribution of the artisans and weavers of our nation. Not only just us, Bollywood celebrities who are the top fashion trendsetters of India, also urged people to embrace local handmade crafts. Priyanka Chopra, Karisma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty to Janhvi Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu and many more celebrities took to their social media and posted stunning pictures sporting handloom sarees like true Indian divas.
Priyanka Chopra posted a picture on her Instagram story looking beautiful in a mesmerising jamdani saree from Madhurya Creations. The saree features white blossom work all over and there were sleek red borders to highlight the beautiful colour combination.
Ever beautiful Karisma Kapoor also posted a picture on her social media wearing a gorgeous white silk saree from Raw Mango. The saree featured shiny golden zari embroideries in the borders and the body had butti detailing all over. Take a look:
Similarly, gorgeous Shilpa Shetty showed her eternal love for handloom sarees yesterday. You can see her clad in an alluring royal blue saree embellished with golden zari in zigzag stripes. Shilpa wrote, "On National Handloom Day today, I salute all the weavers who make hand woven garments look so effortless. I am #VocalForHandmade, are you?"
Indian handlooms sarees are such a treasure to own! The artistry involved, their uniqueness, and the efforts invested make each piece so incredibly special. Our culture & heritage are so richly woven into them that owning & wearing one makes you feel extremely special. Sharing a glimpse of one of my all-time favourite sarees with you. It looks & feels so regal & elegant, but is light as a feather & so easy to handle. On National Handloom Day today, I salute all the weavers who make hand woven garments look so effortless. I am #VocalForHandmade, are you? @narendramodi, @smritiiraniofficial, @ministryoftextilesgoi . . . . . #NationalHandloomDay #VocalForLocal #handlooms #IndianHandlooms #MadeInIndia
