Just three films old in 2010, actress Sonam Kapoor starred in Aisha, a film that massively changed the mood of fashion in Bollywood. While Pernia Qureshi, who owns the fashion e-store perniaspopupshop, along with designer Kunal Rawal were the costume designers for the film, the modish and up-to-the-minute style and demeanour of the film overall didn't fail to catch the appraising eyes of even the toughest fashion critics. In such a film, that brought in and highlighted for the first time in Bollywood, international designers like Dior, Chanel and Jimmy Choo, the producer has got to be given some credit. The producer in this case was none other than Sonam Kapoor's younger sister Rhea Kapoor.
In the years that followed, Rhea not only established herself as an able producer but also as a leading stylist in the country; owing to the fact that she was and is styling someone who is deemed the most fashionable woman in the Indian film industry - her sister, Sonam.

When it comes to styling Sonam, seems like Rhea doesn't like to stick to the conventional. At a recent event in London, for the promotion of Sonam's upcoming film PadMan, Rhea styled her in a red pant suit, going back to '70s style. The outfit was compiled with pieces from Kojak Studio and Thale Blanc by Deborah Sawaf. If you've never heard of these names before, don't be surprised, Rhea has a knack of finding urbane,upcoming designers and luxury labels from around the world.
Only a few days ago, Sonam and Rhea were both in Geneva for the 150th anniversary of IWC, a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer. Sonam attended the launch of their Jubilee collection as well as a gala evening hosted by them. Rhea styled Sonam in shades of pink for both her appearances. Needless to say, Sonam looked every bit the fashionista that we know her to be.
For the gala evening, Sonam showed up in a pretty pink gown by Viktor & Rolf.
Sonam spent the day walking around Geneva in this classic salmon pink pant suit from a fashion label called Bouguessa. She also attended IWC's jubilee collection launch wearing this.
International events aside, Rhea doesn't shy away from styling Sonam in her distinctive manner even when they're in India. Before Sonam left for her European travels, she was promoting PadMan in full swing in India as well.
For one of the promotional events, Rhea styled Sonam an asymmetrical, oversized jacket from Georgian fashion designer Janashia and culottes from the edgy Japanese fashion label Comme des Garcons.
Rhea seems to particularly love dressing Sonam up in power suits. From denim co-ords to multi-coloured ones to a classic black suit with an avant-garde twist, Rhea seems to have tried it all on Sonam.
Rhea's styling off late hasn't just been limited to Sonam. She seems to be lending her expertise to close friend Kareena Kapoor as well. Rhea has styled Kareena for a host of events recently, and we have to say how good Kareena looked is testament to the incredible stylist Rhea Kapoor is.
Rhea is also producing the upcoming film, Veere Di Wedding, starring both Sonam and Rhea along with Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in the leading roles. We can't wait to see just how stylish this film will be.
