At Rs 60,000 For Jute Palazzos, Dressing Like A Sack Of Potatoes Certainly Doesn't Come Cheap

The fact of the matter is fashion isn't always practical. Wearing pencil-thin high heels and rib-crushing bodycon dresses is proof of that. It isn't always affordable either. There are some divine pieces like designer handbags or luxury jewellery that are priced incredibly high and yet, are bought because the price can be justified for the buyer. But then there are other fashion items that are so irrationally expensive without the backing of a designer name or even, basic appealing qualities. This was one such instance. Instagram user @life_with_shelmy posts about fashion, family and travel on her page and came across a startling style moment she couldn't afford to miss. In a video shared on Instagram, she has seen shopping when she comes across a unique pair of palazzo pants. With a drawstring waist and wide fit, the pants are made of jute fabric and also include a stamp over the length, which only adds to the agricultural quality of the bottom wear. She zooms in to show the tag, which states that the pants are from a brand called Holy Fashion and cost a whopping Rs 60,000. If you'd like to dress like a sack of potatoes, we'd recommend skipping this expensive purchase. Even sewing the pants yourself from a sack and purchasing multiple kilos of potatoes along with it wouldn't cost this much.

Bizarre fashion is all over, especially when it is showcased on the runway. Last month, Viktor & Rolf challenged gravity while turning the concept of couture on its head, very literally. Their Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2023 collection included exquisitely crafted ball gowns with frothy tulle, pleats and sequin. But it was the silhouettes of dresses and gowns that were suspended to the models and worn laterally and vertically that really turned heads.

Clothing brand (di)vision also showcased their collection in Copenhagen recently in a way that grabbed every eyeball in the room. The fashion show begins with a model seated at a table who clinks a glass and then heads to do a spin around the room. Little do we realise the tablecloth of the table that she was seated at, is part of her dress. So her walk included, not just the dress but the cutlery that came with the table too. We wouldn't want to be the ones doing the dishes, that's for sure.
