Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma went all out at the FA Cup final at Wembley in London this weekend, and the internet is rife with images of them cheering their favourite team on even though Manchester United lost in a well-fought battle with Manchester City. But in an interview soon after, the couple was presented with signature Manchester City jerseys that were customised with their names.
While Anushka's jersey had her name printed on the jersey in white, Virat's had his iconic number '18' printed on the jersey along with his name. The Puma Manchester City's jerseys are predominately sky blue in colour for this season 2023-24, similar to the last season. White was used for the logos and on the collar detailing. The number 18 printed on Virat's jersey honours the sportstar's attachment and connection to the same number that has travelled with him ever since he started to play higher-level cricket. He wears that number both for India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL. A picture-perfect moment followed the interview when the star couple were clicked with their jerseys.
In the interview, Virat revealed that he closely follows Manchester City games and is also a member of the FC Goa team in the Indian Super League. He added that he believes if star players from different football leagues come to India, it will inspire the Indian youth and growth in the acceptance of the game. Anushka couldn't contain her excitement after the game. She said, "it's been crazy, it's been amazing. The kind of excitement you get at a football match is unparalleled." She mentioned that this was her first-ever Manchester City match and second live football match as her first live football match was El Clasico.
At the match, Virat wore a black t-shirt with black denim and a tan full-sleeved jacket while Anushka wore a short-sleeved white t-shirt with black pants and a black sleeveless jacket at the game.
Both Anushka and Virat are enjoying their time in London, where Virat is gearing up for the upcoming World Test Championship final while Anushka lined up in Anushka's near future is her film 'Chakda Xpress,' which is her first film after a break of nearly four years.Comments
