1. Jantar Mantar
This stone structure stands parallel to the earth's axis and clocks time accurately. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the second in the 18th century, made five such structures across the Northern part of India. Jantar Mantar allows you to observe the planetary positions to the naked eye with the help of the astronomical instruments which are installed here. The words Jantar Mantar literally means an instrument for making calculations.
2. Jaisalmer Fort
This massive fort is definitely a site, especially during the early hours of the day when the sunlight falls on the structure and it gleams. The massive fort has a number of intricate archways, carved engravings and skilled architecture. The fort also has several temples inside its premises.
3. Keoladeo National Park
This wildlife sanctuary was created over 200 years ago and is named after Lord Shiva. The park was designated as a sanctuary in 1976. You may find varied species of birds, fish, snakes and other amphibian species. This World heritage site must be visited in winters when there are several migratory birds visiting.
4. Ranthambore Fort
The Ranthambore Fort is actually an ancient ruin with a unique architecture. These ruins have great aesthetic importance as they are artistic which appeal to photographers. There are a few temples inside the fort too. Built in the mid of the 10th century, the fort was taken by the Ghurid ruler, who had defeated Prithviraj Chauhan in 1192.
5. Kumbhalgarh Fort
The majestic Kumbhalgarh fort stands tall and provides a picturesque view to the onlookers. The long wall of the fort is the second longest in the world, after the Great Wall Of China. Though the structure is over 700 years old, it holds strong as ever. The architecture of the fort showcases the diverse heritage and culture of the state.
