1. New Delhi
Being the capital of the nation and the hub of the formation of the Constitution, the Republic Day celebrations at New Delhi are on another level. From the ironic parades to the grand celebrations that follow that should be on every Indian's bucket list. When in Delhi, do attend the vibrant parade at Rajpath in the morning and explore other places in Delhi throughout the day.

2. Ahmedabad
Owing to Mahatma Gandhi's native region, Ahmedabad too had a significant role during the freedom movement. Pay homage to the legend by visiting the Sabarmati Ashram which is near Ahmedabad city where national movements like the Civil Disobedience Movement, Non-Violence Movement, and Swadeshi Movement took place.
3. Amritsar
Amritsar in Punjab is of immense historical significance. We have all known about the Jallianwala Bagh and the Wagah border which witnessed gruesome incidents during the freedom struggle. The bullet marks at the Jallianwala Bagh garden are sad reminders of the atrocities of the Independence era. The parade at the Wagah border conducted during the evening is sure to give you goosebumps.
4. Pune
The city of Pune in Maharashtra too holds great importance in connection to the Indian Independence Movement. The Aga Khan Palace was built in the 18th century and is famous for Mahatma Gandhi, his wife Kasturba Gandhi, and his secretary Mahadev Desai for their reported arrest. It is also the place where Kasturba Gandhi and Mahadev Desai died and the palace houses their samadhis.
5. Port Blair
The Cellular jail at Port Blair, Andaman And Nicobar islands is also known as Kala Pani. The structure was built by the Britishers in such a way that the prisoners could never escape as the jail was surrounded by water on all sides. It was used to keep political prisoners during the freedom struggle. The jail has been transformed into a museum and is open to the general public.

6. Gorakhpur
Chauri Chaura is a memorial located in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh and was built in honour of the freedom fighters who got martyred during the Independence movement. Visit this memorial and pay tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed it all for their love for their nation.
7. Bangira
Rani of Jhansi or Rani Laxmi Bai was a prominent leader during India's war of independence. The Jhansi Fort is located at Bangira Hill in Uttar Pradesh and gives a view of the entire city. The fort was a watchtower of the city. There are many other attractions to visit like Panchkuian Temple, Rani Mahal, City Church, and more.
