Okay, so I know that packing bags for a vacation is a very debatably fun activity. But it is also quite a task when you have to remember what all to take, then getting everything in order, and finally somehow finding a way to put all of it inside the bag.
Okay, fine. Maybe packing isn't fun after all. But there are things we must keep in mind to make sure it is a fun start to a vacation rather than a dud activity that we dread doing. More importantly, to pack smart, we must remember certain things.
Don't forget to make a list
Yes, that's right. Make life simpler for yourself. Make a list of everything that need to be taken along and done.
Don't forget the weight limit
Sadly, baggage weight limit is a real thing and we will do well to remember that to save ourselves the trouble later. You know, at the airport where we end up feeling embarrassed or worse have to discard things.
Don't forget your medicines
A small pouch with all the emergency medicines, first aid kit, and the necessary pills is a good idea. It saves the trouble of looking for a chemist when the need arises.
Don't forget to keep space for all the holiday shopping
Because, sadly, the weight limit on baggage is not going to be exempted on the return journey.
Don't forget to keep all the valuable items in the hand bag
You know, the laptop, the chargers, the iPod, the camera, the tablet, the kindle, your grandmother's picture...the likes.
Don't forget to check the weather of where you are headed
I mean that's just an understood thing, right? You pack according to the destination's weather to avoid carrying what you don't need.
Don't forget to compartmentalise your clothes
Keep the delicates separate, the tees separate, the trousers separate, the shirts separate...you get the drift. It is just easier to find the things later.
Don't forget to plastic wrap of safely lock in all the spill-able items
Else, be ready to say bye bye to all your clothes. Also, wrap goods that are breakable in bubble wrap.
Lastly, don't forget your documents
Do you really want to be that person who forgot his tickets or passport at home? Yeah, I thought as much.
Travel smart, travel fun!
