The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are all set to commence from July 26, 2024. Before the grand procession, the Olympic torch relay is a tradition that cannot be missed. The tradition goes back to the roots of the game and promotes sport in its various forms. Back on May 8, 2024, the Olympic flame embarked on its epic journey across France, while offering a unique insight into the beauty of the country.

The flame will travel to some of the most prominent and beautiful places in France, starting with Lascaux caves, following which it will head to the Alesia archaeological site, medieval city of Carcassonne, the Palace of Versailles and many other sites. The flame will light up the most famous architectural wonders of France like Mont Saint-Michel, chateaux of the Loire Valley as well as many lighthouses, bridges, viaducts, and arenas. The flame will also visit some of the memorials in the country like the Verdun Memorial and the D-Day Landing Beaches.
This torch relay serves as a tribute to the history of France and people associated with it. The Olympic Torch Relay focuses attention on the country's beauty by passing through the famous sites like Verdon Regional Natural Park, the Mont-Blanc valley, Mont Canigou as well as many other popular lakes and national parks.
The route also climbed summits like Pic du Midi de Bigorre, and many other beautiful coastlines, oceans, and seas to finally reach France from Greece.
