Sleeping for 8 hours is essential, we all hear that all the time; we even try and make sure it becomes a reality and not just something we complain loudly about at parties. Obviously, with all the social media activities, and socialising, and working late, and eating, and meeting people, and working out, we struggle to get that eight hours worth if sleep.
But what if I tell you that apart from the rest you are giving yourself, there are other health benefits of sleeping? I mean, we all know that don't we, but a little reminder is never bad. Maybe it will help you head for those 8 hours or more even strongly. I mean, here's hoping.
Improve concentration and creativity
After a long day, your brain recovers when you go to sleep. Your cells are charged again and your thoughts and memories are made stronger. With that, your productivity and creativity are boosted.
Better your mental health
A poor sleep pattern makes you feel listless and down, which may contribute to poor mental health. Good sleep leads to good emotional stability. You are less irritable, less anxious, less stress, and you are less prone to depression.
Keep fit
Enough sleep can better your athletic performance and keep you charged for all kinds of physical activities. If you hit the gym on good amount of sleep, your productivity there is more.
Watch that weight
Good amount of sleep boosts your metabolism, and that helps burn fat in the body. Not just that, poor sleep leads to poor appetite and we all know how harmful that is to our weight watch.
Live longer
Good amount of sleep leads to an allover better quality of life and that tends to increase your life span. But that is to happen right? Better sleep = better health = more life span?
So, hitting the snooze button yet?
