For most, vacations are those blissfully awaited couple of weeks in a year which are spent under the sun and on the sand with a cocktail in hand. As surprising as it may be, not everyone has pleasant recollections when it comes to holidays. Jameela Jamil is amongst them. The Hollywood actress shared on Instagram that her memories of holidays in the past have always been tainted. However, she aimed to break those long-rooted patterns on her recent vacation to Europe.

The actress posted a series of photos mainly of her eating pizzas, croissants and sundaes. Her caption detailed how she spent most of her life fearing holidays and everything they bring; namely, pictures in swimsuits and gloriously greasy food. Throughout the course of her travels, Jameela said that she constantly felt the "pressure to come back looking tanned and thinner". It was to the extent that she carried a weighing scale in her suitcase on holidays and swapped pizza for watermelon for lunch. She even said that she dodged being in group photos for fear of her squished arm or double chin ruining the picture.

Jameela is now making right her relationship with holidays. When the zipper of her dress burst on her recent holiday in Europe, she called it "a sign of privilege and pride". The actress hit the buffet and indulged her tastebuds "without fear, without guilt, without a feeling of responsibility to maintain myself". Most importantly, she documented her culinary journey through the weeks and didn't delete a picture.

Miss Jamil concluded saying that her post isn't intended to demonise those who follow healthy diet and exercise routines on vacation. It's simply a way of unlearning her previous patterns and now creating new healthier ones for herself. She signs off by saying, "It's just a post to beg you to eat the food you crave, and to let go of the control, and to not miss memories ", which is perfectly put.
