1. White vinegar
This is one of the most common recommendations to remove wine stains from clothes, table linen as well as other soft furnishings. Once you notice the wine stain, immediately pour some white vinegar over it. Let it rest for a few minutes and then add some detergent and wash gently in hot water. After a few scrubs, the stains will disappear.
2. Baking soda
Baking soda has got to be one of the most used ingredients for quick fixes. It helps in removing wine stains too, especially in rugs and mats. First soak the stained area with a little water, and then sprinkle some baking soda on it. Using your fingers, spread it out gently and let it rest overnight. Dip a cotton dab in white vinegar and use it scrub off the stain. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean up little tidbits.
3. Salt
If you don't have the above ingredients, then make use of salt, which also helps in removing stains. Immediately sprinkle some salt over the stain and allow it to soak it up. Then using a detergent, wash off the stain.
