Women, what would we do without them? Not much, I'm certain. Not only are women magical goddesses that balance homes, relationships and careers; they have some of the brightest minds that have ever existed. If you don't believe us, these 6 inventions will do the talking. They're all invented by marvelous minds who the rest of humankind will forever be indebted to.
1. Dishwasher
Thanks to Josephine Cochrane, dishpan hands are nothing but a memory for many. The dishwasher was born when Cochrane's servants chipped far too much of her delicate china plates. To change this, she made the framework of the machine which we now know as a dishwasher. It had a rack to hold the dishes and used a water spray that worked on pressure. After plenty of trials, she worked with mechanic George Butter to secure the first patent for it.
2. Disposable Diaper
After Marion Donovan had dealt with far too many of her daughter's dirty cloth diapers which left a mess on the bedsheets, she decided to fix it. She stitched a cover for diapers using a plastic shower curtain and the waterproof diaper was born. Although it was unsuccessful at first, Marion's invention and patents were sold to a corporation for $1 million who developed on it and created Pampers. The diaper wasn't all; Marion went on to get patents for many more inventions including the facial tissue box.
3. Kevlar
A chemist, Stephanie Kwolek is the lady behind the revolutionary fabric, Kevlar. Kevlar is an incredible synthetic fabric that is known for its super strength; it's known to be five times stronger than steel. Kevlar has numerous uses in modern life, from ropes and musical instruments to military equipment and safety clothing.
4. Chocolate Chip Cookies
Now Ruth Wakefield's possibly accidental invention is one the entire world is grateful for. While baking, she realized she had run out of baker's chocolate so replaced it with a bar of Nestle's chocolate. However, the chocolate pieces didn't melt all the way through which led to the widely popular chocolate chip cookies
5. Computer Software
It is all due to Dr. Grace Murray Hopper's invention that our modern gadgets run the way they do today. Hopper was a rear admiral in the US Navy and is credited with the invention of COBOL, a user-friendly commonly used computer software for businesses. She also coined the terms 'bug' and 'debug' when a moth was giving her computer trouble.
6. Invisible Glass

Katharine Blodgett was the first female scientist at General Electricals and was responsible for glass as we know it today. She learned to transfer thin molecular coatings to glass and metal, which got rid of distortion and flare. This improved cameras, spectacle glasses and so many more inventions that used glass.
