A Royal Christening, Regal Fashion And 3 Adorable Babies

Monday marked an important day for Britain's royal family as little Prince Louis was baptised. The youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton was christened at Chapel Royal in St. James' Palace. The event took place months after the royal wedding and saw the attendance of close-knit members of the family, although Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip couldn't be present.

Prince Louis, who was born on April 23rd 2018, is the youngest sibling to his brother, Prince George and sister, Prince Charlotte. The little prince wore the same gown his older siblings wore to their christenings and continued the tradition. It is a replica of the gown worn by Queen Victoria's daughter for her christening in 1841. At the ceremony, 7-year-old cake (made for Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011) was served, which is a British tradition. Prince Louis godparents are Lady Laura Meade, Hannah Carter, Lucy Middleton, Nicholas van Cutsem, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher and Guy Pelley.

While the royal christening was stepped in tradition, it also saw some remarkably elegant fashion choices. Prince William wore a sharp blue suit and was hand-in-hand with George and Charlotte who wore a white short set and blue and white printed dress respectively. Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wore a white structured Alexander McQueen dress with a Jane Taylor headpiece. Alexander McQueen has previously designed Kate's wedding dress as well as ensembles for the previous two christenings as well.

Also in attendance was the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While Harry also wore a blue suit and light blue tie, Meghan opted for an olive Ralph Lauren dress with a matching headpiece and Manolo Blanik pumps.

Kate's younger sister Pippa Middleton and her husband, James Matthews were also present. James too wore a blue suit and light blue tie while Pippa co-ordinated in a light blue pleated Alessandra Rich dress with silver pumps and a headpiece.

What a magnificent (and elegant) way to welcome tiny Prince Louis to the faith and the royal family.
