With the cut-offs reaching unimaginable highs each season and pressure mounting further, it can be an immensely demotivating time if you haven't fared as well as the rest or as much as you expected. 1. It Isn't The End Of The World
It can feel like the entire world is crumbling around you and the future is bleak, but it really isn't. Bad marks are just that - bad marks. They may not enable you to get certain opportunities but in no way will your life completely shut down. In fact, it may motivate you to work harder for your next exam. There are plenty of courses and freelance jobs you could opt for to further your career. They may not be the traditional route but they will develop your skills.
2. They Don't Define You
So you didn't score well on an exam. That's okay. It doesn't mean that you aren't smart enough, aren't diligent or aren't hardworking. It just means that you didn't score well. Bad marks do not change the way you or anyone sees you. They don't make you, they are just marks. It also doesn't mean you're a failure who cannot do well at anything. Reach out to a parent, friend or teacher to speak to them about how you're feeling because having a support system at a time like this is indubitably important.
