Urmila Matondkar, Welcome Back. This Bewafa Beauty Returns With A Bang

If you have seen the news today, one of the trending topics you must be noticing floating about online is the return of actress Urmila Matondkar to Bollywood after nine years. And if you didn't know this already, then surprise, surprise! Urmila, 44, will be seen in a special dance number in Irrfan Khan's upcoming movie Blackmail. Name of the song? Bewafa Beauty. Now that sounds like one tantalising number. And not only sounds like it, the picture that Urmila shared on her Instagram makes it clear that it is going to be one heck of a song.
 

Look at the indie chic saree. The sequined saree is just like the song itself, a tease to the kitsch mind. Anyone who knows anything about Urmila will have great expectations - she is celebrated for her dance routines in films as diverse as Rangeela and China Gate. So with that, enjoy the song video.



Urmila Matondkar, who began as a child star in films like Masoom, was last seen in 2014 Marathi film Ajoba. Her last full length appearance in a Hindi film, however, was back in 2008, in the film Karzzz. We have no idea why it's taken her this long to make a comeback, even if it's just in a song sequence, but given how Urmila rocked numbers like China Gate's Chamma Chamma, Bewafa Beauty might well become the song that will have the crowd at every party and every wedding go berserk this year.

And this seems like a nice point to throwback to her Rangeela dance numbers. As every 90s kid knows, songs like Mangta Hai Kya, Rangeela Theme, and Tanha Tanha Yaha Pe Jeena were iconic - not just the songs in themselves, but the picturisation and Urmila's moves. Almost makes us nostalgic for those times to return. She was always a great dancer and a sizzling persona on screen.





But as far as returning is concerned, we are glad that Urmila Matondkar will be seen in Blackmail, even briefly. And here we are hoping that this will herald a proper return to Bollywood. And not just in the scary suspense thrillers she excelled in at the peak of her career.
