Breaking up is never easy, that much is known by everyone who plays the game of love. To break-up with someone and for it to not turn into a mess full of drama, tears, and emotions running wild is almost a precious gift, And from there, for both parties to turn towards a mutual friendship is a great thing to happen. Only, that doesn't happen as much as we would like it to. Sadly. But maybe there are ways to change that, or at least try to change that.
A lot of times, the aftermath of a break-up is decided by how a break-up is carried out and handled. There are a few things you should just not to during a break-up, there are some things you should never to when the break-up is done. And then there are ways that you should just not resort to when you want to break-up with someone. These are more out of respect for the other person and what you shared than anything. Don't ghost the other person
Ghosting is a trend where a person simply becomes a "ghost", they disappear from your life by blocking you everywhere, refusing to communicate with you, making themselves unreachable and hard to contact. Not just a really insensitive and disrespectful thing to do, this makes you look like a royal coward who couldn't have a proper break-up conversation.
Don't break-up over text, call, or through someone
You can't face them when you break-up? Really? But you had no trouble facing them when you were in the relationship, eh? No. Brave up and go break-up like a civilised person - in person. Apart from the fact that this is the way it should be no matter what, meeting a person and doing it makes sure there is no ambiguity, miscommunication, or misunderstandings.

Don't create an unnecessary mess of it
To have a smooth break-up, a lot of understanding is required. But some would say that the break-up wouldn't be happening if there were some understanding in the first place. Either way, ambiguity doesn't help; nor does needless drama, personal attacks, emotional blackmail. Obviously, both the parties need to give some space to the other to process what has happened, and in addition to that, sensitivity. But let's try and not make it harder for the other person by making them feel worse about the whole thing.
Last thoughts? Make sure you communicate to the other person that the time you guys spent together was special and important to you and in no way is this break up a commentary on the person being broken up with. It is essential to leave the person who has been broken up with good thoughts for their recovery.
