Come May 17 and Cannes, the sunny seaside town in France, is going to be glistening thanks to the presence of some of the Indian film industry's biggest stars. At the historic Cannes Film Festival, big names like Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone, who have attended the event in the past, will rub shoulders with a delegation of Indian actors. Last week, India was announced as the official ‘Country of Honour' at the Marche' Du Films also called Cannes Film Market. Several prominent film personalities will, therefore, arrive at the film festival all while putting their best fashion foot forward.
In the run-up to the big day, it has been confirmed that Deepika Padukone will be attending the Cannes Film Festival as part of the prestigious jury. In the past, Deepika has presented the world with several defining fashion moments while at Cannes. One of her most iconic red carpet moments came in 2018 as she stepped out in a fuchsia pink Ashi Studio dress. The ensemble featured several tiers of ruffles along the length of the garment in addition to exaggerated sleeves. She paired the dress with pink pumps and emerald drop earrings. For makeup, Deepika accentuated her doe eyes with smokey makeup and a sleek top knot.
Aishwarya Rai, who is marking 20 years since her debut at the Cannes Film Festival, will also be seen at the prestigious event this year. From sarees to gowns, Aishwarya Rai has presented fans with several stunning looks, cementing her spot as one of the world's most beautiful women. Our pick from the many beautiful looks that Aishwarya Rai has presented over the years is her powder blue ballroom gown by Michael Cinco in 2017.
Actress Hina Khan, who broke the Internet with her stunning Cannes debut in 2019, will be returning to the French Riviera. We are sure she will be recreating some of her magic this time around too.
Aditi Rao Hydari, known for her regal looks and personality, will attend the Cannes Film Festival in association with the smartphone giants, Vivo. Aditi has often made an impression with red carpet appearances at award shows in India. The actress is known for her ethnic looks and we hope to see her present us with an epic saree moment like the one here:
Another actress who is known for her beautiful saree looks is South superstar Nayanthara, who reportedly will be attending the Cannes Film Festival as part of the Indian delegation. We hope she brings some of her understated charm and grace onto the carpet this time around. Here's one of her looks from 2019, shared by her beau, film-maker Vignesh Shivan, where she made heads turn in a pastel pink floral saree:
Actress Pooja Hegde will also be joining as part of the Indian delegation. We love Pooja's fashion game so far and can't wait to see what she does at Cannes. Pooja Hegde has turned many heads at red carpet events in the past and it's definitely going to be bigger than ever before for this iconic debut.
Reports also state that Tamannaah Bhatia will be part of the delegation as well. We've seen her in everything from holographic gowns to ruffled sarees on the red carpet in the past and we're sure she's set to make a fantastic first impression even if she's at Cannes this year.
We're bummed to miss Sonam Kapoor on the red carpet this year but we're equally excited for what these glam ladies have in store for us.Comments
