Princess Diana may no longer be among us but for a fashion icon ahead of her years like herself, her inspiration will live through the ages. That's true especially for her daughter-in-law Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge, who is married with three children to Prince William, made an appearance at the Royal Ascot, a famous horse racing event which takes place in Ascot, England. Kate, who is always one to look her elegant best when she steps out, made sure this one was just as fabulous.
The duchess wore an Alessandra Rich polka dotted silk crepe dress. White in colour, it featured black polka dots with long sleeves and a high buttoned neckline with a scarf detail. Belted at the waist, the midi dress took a classic print and made it just as sophisticated as in 2022. With it, Kate wore brown pumps and a matching purse. She opted for a Sally-Ann Provan hat which was detailed with flowers. But it was more than just a stunning appearance from Kate. In fact, it paid tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, whose incomparable style and charm only lives on.
In the year 1988, Princess Diana attended the Royal Ascot herself wearing an almost identical white and black polka dot dress. Along with long sleeves, hers had a banded waist. Diana wore her printed ensemble with a matching hat and a string of pearls around her neck. A look at both of the royal fashion photos side-by-side and you'll see for yourself the duchess's fashionable tribute to the late Princess Diana. What truly tied a bow and wrapped it up for us is that Kate wore Diana's pearl drop earrings for the 2022 event too. Her tribute is certainly a sophisticated and stylish one.Comments
