Sonam Kapoor's Advice On Jewellery, Fusion Outfits And How To Dress Better

Fashion is Sonam Kapoor’s stronghold, undeniably so. The fact that Sonam is a reigning fashionista and one of the best dressed people of Bollywood is not something that many can question. She has proven time and again that she can rock anything, from a couture dress to a stylish fusion outfit to a denim saree. Recently, she walked the ramp for Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, a luxury jewellery brand from Jaipur. In a beautiful purple lehenga by Jayanti Reddy, Sonam looked exquisite and grand. Wearing some opulent pieces from the brand’s Delhi Durbar Collection, Sonam shared her thoughts on the upcoming jewellery trends with us.

Swirlster: What are the jewellery trends you think we'll be seeing this festive season?

Sonam Kapoor: I think traditional, well crafted jewellery is always in trend. Although, I don’t believe in following trends when jewellery is concerned; it is an expensive item. Go for classic jewellery pieces that you can keep repeating and pass on later.

Swirlster: You wear a lot of fusion outfits. You pair western outfits with Indian jewellery and make it work. What tip do you have for those who want to pull that trend off?

Sonam Kapoor: I think you have to go with whatever you are comfortable in. It is okay to experiment a little bit by wearing traditional jewellery with western outfits but I do think Indian jewellery with Indian outfits looks the best.

Swirlster: What is that one tip that everyone who wants to amp up their style game should remember?

Sonam Kapoor: It is important to be yourself and celebrate yourself more than anything else.
