A catchy word that many citizens of the Gen-Z era seem to be talking about. Recurring hookups, casual romance and a few dates perfectly define this term. More than friendship, less than a relationship is what situationship is all about. In this sort of arrangement, the status of the situation is often not clear and there is mostly a lack of an emotional connection. It's just another way of saying, "it's complicated."
2. Breadcrumbing
This a very common term that you might have come across. It is exactly what you think; keeping someone on the hook. Consistently checking in romantically with the person every now and then, keeps them interested and then goes off for some time suddenly and then pops again out of nowhere with flirty texts and the repeated cycle.
3. Pocketing
"Where is this going?" This is often the question we either ask ourselves or our partner when in such a situation. Dating for quite a while but you've never been introduced to their parents or their friends or vice versa? You're being pocketed, friend.

4. Soft Launching
Private but not hidden! Discreetly posting a picture of your partner on social media to give a hint to others that you are taken. This is a way to let them know without having to reveal the identity of your partner or the details of your relationship except for the fact that, you're taken, honey.
5. Cuffing
Our love glossary is incomplete without this one. Also known as cuffing season, this term refers to dating a person during the colder months of the year, basically during the cuddle season.
6. Benching
"Wish I could be with you but I am not single" Yeah, that's how 'saving it for later' works. This term means putting someone on hold while they continue to date other people. They want to keep seeing you but not lock it down with you.
7. Rizz
Making rounds on the social-media platform, Tik Tok, Rizz is just a newer term for 'attractive personality' that one cannot resist. It refers to someone's charisma to flirt or attract a potential love interest.
8. Ghosting
Another relationship term that we might have come across many times. Ghosting is when a person suddenly disappears or cuts off without any warning or conversation while you both were dating or at least went on a few dates with.
