The sheer drape was adorned with floral embellishment. Needless to say, Alia looked breathtaking in her desi moment for fashion's biggest night. Her sartorial choice for Met Gala 2024 also drew comparisons to similar sarees worn by Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif by Sabyasachi, which showcased the similarity in Sabyasachi's design philosophy, especially when it came to floral detailing and muted tones.

Alia Bhatt picked a delicate mint green sheer saree. Playing around with the contrasting detailing, Sabyasachi made the garden come to life with multi-hued 3D floral motifs. Its elaborate pallu forming a trail, reimagined butterfly blouse with ruffled sleeves and shimmery tassels jazzed up the ensemble. The masterpiece took “a collective effort of 163 dedicated individuals, including master craftspeople, embroiderers, artists, and dyers, investing a total of 1965 man hours" to create the ethereal saree.

To marry Vicky Kaushal in 2021, Katrina Kaif redefined elegance in a blush pink floral embroidered saree which was designed by Sabysachi. The actress teamed it with a full-sleeve floral blouse while the veil gave it a Western touch. As per the designer's details, it came with “hand-cut English flowers, embroidered by craftswomen from Bengal and liberally sprinkled with semi-precious gems and crystals.” In addition, “The ensemble took 40 artisans over 1800 hours to handcraft.”
