We've never waited for a red carpet function as much as we have the MET Gala 2021 and it definitely did not disappoint. Following the theme 'In America: A Lexicon of Fashion', the stars brought out only their most statement-making looks. From Kim Kardashian and Rihanna to Kaia Gerber and Maisie Williams, black tones took over the red carpet. But don't be mistaken into thinking it was all black gowns and tuxedos because that wouldn't cut it at a costume gala, now would it? Let's take a look at the spell-binding black looks on the MET Gala 2021 red carpet.
Kim Kardashian starts off our list in a Balenciaga ensemble that was literally from head to toe. Including a fitted tunic, tights and a train, it covered her entire face, neck, legs and shoes as well.
Rihanna made her red carpet debut with A$AP Rocky wearing a flouncy black coat dress with a matching beanie from Balenciaga, a sparkling necklace and head gear to set it off.
Olivia Rodrigo looked rocker chic in a black lace jumpsuit from Saint Laurent
Troye Sivan gave the little black dress a sultry touch with a backless detail, belted armlet and platform boots along with Cartier jewellery.
